Aspatria Farmers Appoints New CEO

Aspatria Farmers, The oldest farming cooperative in the UK, has today announced the appointment of a new CEO, Ian Buchanan.

Next year Aspatria Farmers will celebrate 155 years working with farmers across Cumbria, South West Scotland and Northumberland. With a turnover
last year of £35.5m and 3 branches centrally located across three sites in Cumbria; Aspatria, Longtown & Penrith, they offer a wide range of services
from feed nutrition, machinery, dairy engineering, agronomy, animal health and more.
Ian has lived in Cumbria all his life, being brought up within the farming community and has an established reputation, having worked at Aspatria Farmers
as Commercial Manager for the last ten years and has expressed his excitement for the future as he steps into this new role.

Ian Buchanan, New Chief Executive said, ‘Having worked at Aspatria Farmers for 19 years, I am passionate about the business, our people and the
farming community. Looking forward, I am committed to leading the team and continuing our ethos of ‘working for farmers’ by providing the best
products at the best prices and growing our business within the county and beyond.’
