Following our 2024/25 financial results, we’re pleased to confirm that a quarter of our profits will be returned directly to members.
In a year where margins have been under real pressure, this is about making sure the success of the cooperative is shared with the farmers who support it.
The decision, approved at the recent AGM, reinforces the co-operative principle of supporting members who trade with the business; particularly in the current climate of falling farmgate prices.
Ian Buchanan, Chief Executive of Aspatria Farmers, said:
“At a time when farming businesses are facing increasing pressure on margins, it is important that our cooperative continues to return value to the farmers who support us. This approach ensures that when the business performs well, our members benefit directly.”
The team will be in touch with eligible members in due course with further details.
Established in 1870, Aspatria Farmers is England’s oldest farmer-owned agricultural cooperative, supporting over 900 members across Cumbria, Northumberland, South West Scotland and Northern England through its stores in Aspatria, Longtown and Penrith.
